Beginning with the character of God and the message of the Gospel, FAITH FROM THE GROUND UP walks you step by step through the essential foundations of the Christian life. Throughout the year, you’ll explore prayer, Scripture, faith, the Holy Spirit, grace, repentance, spiritual growth, relationships, purpose, spiritual warfare, the life and teachings of Jesus, and the hope of eternity.
Each week focuses on a central biblical truth, while each day provides an opportunity to slow down, open Scripture, reflect, and apply God’s Word to everyday life.
Before you can grow upward, you must first grow deep.
Faith From the Ground Up
Jesus spoke about two people who built houses. One built on sand, while the other built on rock. From the outside, both houses may have looked secure. But when the rain fell, the winds blew, and the storms came, the strength of each house was revealed. One collapsed. The other remained standing.
The difference was the foundation.
Jesus said, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” — Matthew 7:24
The Christian life is much the same. Faith is not simply about attending church, knowing Bible stories, or calling yourself a Christian. It is about building your entire life upon Jesus Christ.
