How can I be saved, and how can I know I am?
John 3:1-8KJV
1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

A prayer to receive Jesus
Pray it slowly, in your own words if you like.
God, I know that I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. I cannot save myself, and I do not want to keep trying on my own.
I believe that Jesus is Your Son, that He died for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead. I confess Him as my Lord. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me eternal life as a free gift.
Make me new. Help me to follow Jesus from today on, to learn Your Word, and to find a church family to grow with. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
What the Bible says about salvation
How can I be saved according to the Bible?
Romans 10:9 says, “if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Salvation is received by faith in Jesus, not earned by good works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
What is the Romans Road?
The Romans Road is a simple way of explaining salvation using verses from Romans: all have sinned (3:23), the wages of sin is death but God offers eternal life (6:23), Christ died for us while we were sinners (5:8), and whoever confesses and believes will be saved (10:9-13).
What does it mean to be born again?
Jesus told Nicodemus, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Being born again means receiving new spiritual life from God through faith in Christ. It is a new beginning that God does in us.
Can I know for sure that I am saved?
Yes. 1 John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” Jesus also promised that no one can pluck His sheep out of His hand (John 10:28).
